A contractor with more than 30 years of experience, Ernest Grotsky also has worked as an adjunct instructor at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Dedicated to helping others, Ernest Grotsky supports several philanthropic endeavors, including Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA).

Established almost 70 years ago, the nonprofit PVA seeks to provide a variety of services for veterans of the armed forces who suffer from spinal cord injuries or dysfunctions. Founded by service members who came home from World War II with spinal cord injuries, the congressionally chartered service organization offers research and education on spinal cord injuries, quality health care for members, and independence opportunities.

Each year, the PVA hosts its Mission: Able Awards to honor those who work to help disabled veterans access care, benefits, and jobs. The 2015 event, which occurred on October 6, took place at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC. The meeting featured keynote speaker Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald and master of ceremonies CNN Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr. The honorees included Eleanor Smith, Booz Allen Hamilton, Penske Truck Rental, ManTech, and Capt. Derek Herrera USMC (Ret.).
